Editor guide
In UPQAR's editor, you build a workflow by placing nodes on a canvas and linking them, and running it makes pictures and videos with UPQAR, from your UPQAR balance. This page goes through it in the order you will meet it.
Opening the editor
Choose Open the editor in UPQAR. The editor opens in its own tab, already signed in with your UPQAR account.
When the editor is not ready, the tab tells you why, in UPQAR's words: it is starting; it is busy, and says when to try again; it is not offered to your account; or it did not answer, and you can try again.
If the tab asks you to sign in, go back to UPQAR and choose Open the editor again.
The screen
The canvas fills the middle of the screen. It starts empty, and your workflow is built on it.
The bar at the side opens the Node Library, your saved workflows, and the pictures and videos the editor has made. The mark at the top of that bar opens the menu, with File, Edit, View, Settings and Help.
Each open workflow has a tab along the top, and + starts a new, empty one. Run is at the top right, with the button that stops a run beside it.
Nodes
A node does one job: it makes a picture, crops one, or joins two pieces of text. Its inputs are on its left and its outputs on its right.
To add a node, double-click an empty spot on the canvas, type what you are looking for, and click where the one you choose should go. You can also drag a node in from the Node Library.
UPQAR's own nodes are listed under UPQAR. UPQAR Picture and UPQAR Video make pictures and videos from a prompt; From UPQAR brings in a picture you already have in UPQAR; To UPQAR keeps a picture in your UPQAR project. The other nodes work on pictures, masks, video, sound and text.
The list of nodes is fixed. There is nothing to install, and a workflow that uses a node outside the list cannot run here.
Linking nodes
Drag from an output to an input to link two nodes. Only matching kinds connect: a picture goes into a picture input, text into a text input.
Let go of a link over an empty spot to search for a node that takes it. The node you choose arrives already linked.
To remove a node, select it and press Delete. Press Ctrl + Z to undo the last step.
Running
Press Run, or Ctrl + Enter. Each node is marked while it works, and UPQAR's nodes show how long they have been running: a picture takes seconds, a video can take minutes.
Your editor runs one workflow at a time. A second run waits until the first has finished.
The button beside Run stops the run. A job that is still waiting is stopped and uses nothing from your balance. A job that has already started cannot be stopped: it runs to its end and uses your balance.
Running a node again within a day, without changing it, gives back the result it already made and uses nothing new. Change the prompt, an input, the option or the variation to make a new one.
Your balance
UPQAR's nodes use your UPQAR balance. No price is shown before Run.
If something goes wrong, the node turns red and shows two short lines from UPQAR, in the language of your UPQAR account: what happened, and what happened to your balance. Almost always it was given back; it is used only when the work was already under way and could not be undone.
A request UPQAR refuses before it starts uses nothing, and the node shows only the first line. After you stop a run, it shows only the second.
Pictures in and out
UPQAR Picture and UPQAR Video show what they made on the node itself, so one node and a prompt are enough to see a result. They also place it in your UPQAR project.
From UPQAR brings in a picture you already have in UPQAR. A picture you change with the other nodes is kept only when To UPQAR saves it to your project, and it counts against your storage.
Preview nodes show a result without keeping it. A result that is not in your UPQAR project is gone once your editor stops.
In a prompt, name a reference or brand picture as [Image1], [Image2] and so on, counting from the top. Write Image in Latin letters, even in an Arabic prompt; the number may be written in either kind of digit. Unplugging a picture renumbers the ones below it.
Saving and opening
Save, or Ctrl + S, keeps the workflow in your UPQAR account, and it follows you to any browser. The first save asks for a name; until then the tab says Unsaved Workflow.
The Workflows section of the side bar lists what you have saved. Open one with a click; you can rename or delete it there too.
Export, in the File menu, downloads a workflow as a file, and Open, or Ctrl + O, opens one from your computer.
If you reload the page, changes you have not saved are still there in the same browser.
When a node has a problem
Before a run, the editor checks the workflow. A node with a problem gets a coloured outline, and a message at the top of the screen says what is wrong.
View details lists every problem, and Locate node on canvas takes you to each one.
Arabic and right to left
The editor starts in your browser's language. To change it, open Settings (Ctrl + ,) and choose Language.
In Arabic, menus and side bars read from right to left. The workflow itself always reads from left to right, so it looks the same to everyone who opens it.

Limits
Every node runs within UPQAR's limits on sizes, counts and durations. A workflow that goes over them is refused before it runs, and the refusal says why.
A prompt takes up to 4,000 characters, and in Arabic each vowel mark counts as one. UPQAR Picture makes pictures from 64 to 4,096 pixels wide and high, and UPQAR Video makes videos of 2 to 30 seconds, though some options allow less.
